If you wish AI would just go away, I understand that. You’re allowed to want none of it.
Maybe you miss talking to a real person on the phone. Maybe you’re tired of every app pushing a new AI feature on you. Maybe you just don’t trust where this is going. Those are all reasonable feelings, and this page is for you.
Here’s the honest part
AI is already in our phones, our jobs, and our elections, and the companies building it aren’t slowing down. Whether it exists isn’t really up to us anymore. How it’s used, and who it answers to, still is.
You don’t have to
Use it, like it, or get excited about it.
Become an expert before your opinion counts.
Keep up with every headline.
Pretend you’re fine with how fast this is moving.
Small ways to push back
Wanting less AI is a real position, and you can act on it without becoming a tech person.
Use less, on purpose. Some apps let you turn AI features off in their settings. Choosing not to use something is a choice that counts.
Ask for a human. Tell your bank, your doctor’s office, your kid’s school, or your workplace when you’d rather deal with a person. Companies notice what customers ask for.
Watch your local ballot. Data centers and other local AI questions often get decided in small local votes most people miss. Vote on AI →
Tell the people who represent you. Tech companies make sure lawmakers hear from them. Make sure they hear from you too. Contact your reps →
Talk about it. Saying “I don’t love this” out loud helps other people realize they’re not alone. Start a conversation →
Where to go from here
If this all feels heavy, that’s okay too. Take what’s useful and leave the rest.
